Fredinal “Fred” Rogers serves as the Director of Campus Security, Department of Public Safety (DPS), at Georgetown Law where he oversees the Department of Public Safety and leads the Law Center’s security and law enforcement related activities. Director Rogers previously served with the United States Capitol Police, an agency with over 2,200 employees. For nearly 30 years he progressed through each rank and different work assignments evetually to the position of Deputy Chief in 2010. In his various commands, Director Rogers nurtured collaborative work environments that recognize each employee’s contribution to the department’s mission of serving and protecting the Congress.
Director Rogers was responsible for the Operational Services Bureau that executes Canine, Bomb Technician, HazMat, SWAT, and Mobile Patrol Response. He formerly commanded the Training Services Bureau to provide In-Service, Entry Level, and Physical Skills training for the entire department after his command of the Uniformed Services Bureau that is responsible for over 1,100 sworn and civilian personnel providing security screening, building patrol, and law enforcement response to the Congressional community.
Director Rogers is a graduate of several command level courses of study to include the FBI National Academy (NA) Session 232, the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (LEEDS) Session 69, the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police, the Naval Postgraduate School Executive Leaders Program, the FBI National Executive Institute (NEI) Session 39. Director Rogers also has received the Law Enforcement Executive Development Association Trilogy Award. Director Rogers is a member of the Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA), Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), and is a Past President of the FBI National Academy Associates, DC Chapter.
Director Rogers holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Management from Johns Hopkins University and a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Georgetown University.
