Each Wednesday evening, the CPLE will host the North Star Leadership Speakers Series. While providing a venue for students to socially engage with one another over dinner, the series will be keynoted each week by a leader of national recognition and significance with an engaging message relevant to the North Star mission and curriculum.
Major crisis events occur throughout the world at what appears to be an increasing rate. First responders, particularly law enforcement officers who are already mobile within the community, have a critically important role in mitigating these crises and saving lives.
On the second Saturday of North Star, students will gather for the table-top crisis simulation. The simulation will incorporate critical issues germane to all four of academic courses.
The North Star program will facilitate the development of individual projects in which each student will action the lessons learned during the program in a way that creates a tangible product designed to address a significant problem or challenge currently facing their agency. The Capstone Project serves as a vehicle to integrate the courses, speaker's series, and the tabletop exercise into a seamless, cohesive curriculum.
